ST. CHARLES, ILLINOIS – 32nd ANNUAL SCARECROW FEST CONTEST NEWS

St. Charles, IL— The deadline for entry into the Scarecrow Contest at the 32nd Annual Scarecrow Fest presented by ComEd has been extended to 9AM, Monday, Oct 2, 2017, giving contest entrants the weekend to complete their applications. Also, as of September 27th, the MEGA Scarecrow category is FILLED. From October 6-8, 2017, the nationally-recognized Scarecrow contest will utilize both Lincoln Park and the James Martin Lot (Cedar and Third Streets) to display over 100 community-created scarecrows for public viewing. These entries are truly the heart of the fest. Six categories are featured this year, including a new separate INDIVIDUAL category that has been added to the contest, to create more opportunities to win. The MEGA SCARECROW category, which has space for TWELVE contestants, has been filled. THREE openings remain in the MECHANICAL category with prizes of $550 for First Place, $400 for Second Place and $300 for Third Place. All other categories still have some open availability remaining. Winners of the first and second place entries for the Greater St. Charles Business Category will receive a free advertisement in the Kane County Chronicle. Any clubs, not-for-profits, schools, families, and individuals are encouraged to enter. Entries for businesses in the GSCCVB service area (City of St. Charles, Townships of Campton and St. Charles, Villages of Campton Hills and Elburn) are FREE!
