St. Charles, IL--The Golf Collectors Society (GCS) will be holding their 45th Annual Meeting & Trade Show in St. Charles from September 17-19; the event will be utilizing the golf course and facilities at Pheasant Run Resort. Three-time US Women’s Open champion and World Golf Hall of Fame member Hollis Stacy is scheduled to be the keynote speaker for the organization’s Annual Banquet on Friday, September 18.

Founded in 1970, the GCS is a non-profit international organization dedicated to preserving the treasures and traditions of the game of golf. In total, the GCS boasts over 1400 members that represent 15 different countries as well as a wide variety of collecting interests.

As part of the GCS Annual Meeting, there will be two additional events at Pheasant Run Resort on Thursday, September 17 that are open to the public free of charge. The USGA Museum will be hosting a golf history symposium from 1:00pm-4:00pm. PBA Galleries, a San-Francisco-based auction house, will also hold a golf book and memorabilia auction at 5:00pm; viewing will take place from 12:00pm-4:45pm.

The GCS Annual Trade Show will be held in the Mega Center at Pheasant Run Resort on Saturday, September 19 from 9:00am-5:00pm. The public is invited to attend the show free of charge and browse over 100 tables of golf artifacts and memorabilia that will be made available sale.

The Pheasant Run Resort and the Greater St. Charles Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCCVB) have been working with representatives of the Golf Collectors Society to bring this event to the area. Several complimentary services were provided by the SCCVB during the process including social media support, recommendations of local services, and off-site activity options.

The SCCVB is funded by the Illinois Office of Tourism and a portion of the hotel/motel tax collected by St. Charles hotels to promote Greater St. Charles as a destination for leisure tourists, meetings, conventions, sports events, and motor-coach trips.
